Cycling La Gomera
The cycling on La Gomera can be quite demanding. There are very few flat areas on the island. Many of the climbs are suitable for experienced cyclists with a good level of fitness.
La Gomera does not have a large airport so access to the island is mainly by ferry from Tenerife. It is possible to do cycling day trips from Tenerife.
There are no fountains and water quality can be a problem so make sure you buy water in local bars in the small villages. In the mountains, above 1000m might be rainy, whole island might be windy during whole year (but no rule when exactly), prepare for demanding climbs but roads are wide, with great surface and almost free from cars
To get the most of your cycling adventure on La Gomera, it is worth investing in a local expert who can plan out day trips or multi-day tours.
Gravel in La Gomera
