Cycling Spots around Blaye / nord de la Gironde

Bordeaux

Less busy than the rest of the Gironde, the north of the estuary and the Blaye region are full of roads perfect for cycling in search of discovery and a physical challenge.

The landscapes are quite varied. In a few kilometers you go from vineyards to forest, from marshes to limestone cliffs. The main road links Bourg sur Gironde to Blaye, not passing the flowery corniche of the Gironde and the magnificent belvedere of Château Eyquem.

This area borders the nearby Cognac region where the roads are peaceful and in very good condition.

By following the “Route Verte”, you go up the estuary to Royan via a bucolic cycle route which passes through fishing villages. It is a must for all those who embark on the grand tour of the estuary, an adventure on both banks of the Gironde.
