Mallorca offers great cycling and great coffee! This iconic 100km loop has countless switchbacks and plenty of opportunities to explore some great cycling cafes
About the Route
Our search for switchbacks and cafes starts from Cycling Planet in Alaró. After a nice 15 Km warm up, it's worth stopping at Sa Ruta Verda in Caimari before we tackle the first climb of the day, Coll de Sa Bataia (8,1 Km at 5%), pass the Gorg Blau Reservoirs and then on to Puig Major (4,9 Km at 5,6%)
The descent down the western side of Puig Major has some iconic switchbacks before we reach Sóller. There we'll find our next coffee stop for the day at Reynes Cycling, overlooking the sea Port of Sóller.
Then it is onto the switchback feast which is Coll de Sóller. There are countless switchbacks on both sides with the North side being mostly shaded through a pine forest, and the South side open through terraced terrain full of epic olive trees.
Finally, we'll roll back to Alaró for after-ride drinks at Cycling Planet, beware that they close at 14:00 on the weekends, so go early, ride fast, or go to la plaça if you don’t make it on time. Another perfect day in this cycling paradise.
