About the Route

Located a quick boat ride away from Tenerife is the lesser-populated island of La Gomera.
After getting off the boat in San Sebastien de la Gomera, the only way is up.

For this #switchbacksaturday, we're skipping the entrée and heading straight to the main course. The biggest climb of the day, Puerto Alto del Garajonay is over 20km long. We'll discover our first switchbacks with ocean views and we riser higher towards the summit over 1300m.

We'll peel off the GM-2 to stay high to find the many winding switchbacks along the ridge before descending down into Vallehermoso to tackle our second notable climb up to Las Rosas.

After many more switchbacks, we'll head down to the coastline at Santa Catalina for our final climb of the day. Taking the quieter road in search of more switchbacks, the climb is about 5% average and tops out at Tunel de la Cumbre.

Once through the tunnel, we'll descend down to ocean views back to San Sebastien to finish off an epic switchbacksaturday route.
