Cycling Stockholm
Cycling in Stockholm is very easy to access directly from the city centre and it is also very easy for all types of riders because of the typography.
Stockholm is often called “The Venice Of The North” because of all the water that is close to the roads everywhere. One thing you can be sure of is that wherever you go you will be close to fresh water for a swim or nice rest by the shore. There are no real obstacles in the area and the hills are no more than 50 m in height max.
The surfaces are also very good in most places. Try to stick to the special cycle roads that are plenty. The riding is good 360 from the city centre. If you go east you will soon reach the famous archipelago. If you go west you can find Drottningholm, Sweden’s own Versailles. And the home of the Swedish princes (soon queen).
Both north and south directions have beautiful and remote roads in the countryside. In Sweden it is perfectly alright to bring your cycle on the public trains and also on the archipelago boats to all the islands.
