Positioned centrally between the Maurienne and Tarentaise Valleys, the towns of Brides-les-Bains, Bozel or Moutiers allow you the opportunity for some great riding loops.

You have access to lots of big name climbs like Col de la Madeleine the “Serpentine of the Alps” and the “New Kid on the Block” the Col de la Loze, the first cyclist-only, no-traffic col in the Alps.

You also gain easy access to the Tarentaise Valley via the cycle paths leading to further climbs such as Cormet de Roselend and Petit St Bernard….plus it’s not far to the big name climbs in the Maurienne Valley such as Col du Galibier, Col de Glandon and Col de Croix de Fer.

Savoie in Summer

The temperatures in summer can hit late 30s but with it being the mountains it's always an idea to carry a small gilet or jacket in your pocket for the top of the passes. The weather can change quickly so you should always be prepared whatever time of year.

Summer Road Conditions

Most of the season traffic conditions are calm but in mid August the famous passes can get busy with holiday traffic and motorbikes. At this time it’s better to start your ride earlier in the morning to avoid the heat and the traffic.

Summer is the peak season in the Alps. Make sure you book ahead. Flights and Transfers run as normal. Best choice of Flights Geneva or Lyon Airports.
